When Using NICE
Dogwood Community Crime Watch
NICE, (Neighborhood
Interactive Community Events), is available for Dogwood Neighborhood Crime
Watch members who have submitted an email for communications on events and
meetings along with their home address if located on Dogwood Drive,
Shadowbrook Drive, Reagan Park Drive, Mountain Drive, Hickory Drive, Oak Glenn Drive or
Shadowbrook Lane in Weaverville, NC, 28787.
NICE is intended for
simple home-located activities such as garage sales, moving sale or
neighborhood cookouts. If planning a side street event for a cook out,
the homeowner will need to contact the county sheriff for rules when
partially blocking a side street. The number is (828) 250-6670. NICE will be available from May 1st until September 30th. Your event announcement will be released within 48 hours, so plan
ahead.
Limit your request to one activity per email submitted. Once that activity is complete you may request another up to the end of September. .
Third party services or
products MAY NOT BE promoted through NICE. However, if you are a registered
business with North Carolina providing local services (no product) and have a
home on any of the streets listed above, please mail a business card and your
home address, name and phone number to 100 Dogwood Drive, Weaverville, NC
28787, attention Neighborhood Crime Watch Board.
We will then scan your
business card and add it to the bottom of our Web page. We reserve the right
to remove it if we receive justified complaints from homeowners.
When contacting us to
communicate your event to the community, you will need to provide the copy
YOU WANT POSTED within the email we send out. For example:
"We are planning a
garage sale on Saturday, June 22, between the hours of 8 A.M. and 3 P.M. at
address 100 Dogwood Drive. If you wish to join us, please contact us at
828-999-9999 and ask for Jim or Hana. You will need to bring your own
portable tables for display. In the event of rain, we will advise you of a
new date. Please contact us before June 19th if you wish to join the event.
You will be responsible to
stay in contact with any interested homeowner(s), keeping them up to date
until the event is over.
Note: When receiving an email
from the Dogwood Neighborhood Crime Watch on an event, be sure the sending
email address reads <dogwoodcommunity@gmail.com> If
not, the email did not come from us! And when checking out an event, be sure it is on one of the streets listed for Dogwood Knolls shown at the top of this document.
The Dogwood Neighborhood
Crime Watch is not responsible for any events or activities it sends out
from other homeowners. Use your judgment when communicating with those
planning an event. If the event is not as advertised, let us know. If proven
we will remove that homeowner from our NICE communication.
We reserve the right to
discontinue the program at any time.
